Life-threatening event averted in Larned, Kansas

Life-threatening event averted in Larned, KansasOn Saturday, July 15, at Larned Correctional Mental Health Facility in Larned, Kansas, a correctional officer collapsed during his shift when he experienced a seizure, which resulted in a code situation. When the code was called, Corizon Health RN Deborah Blake responded and began CPR, assisted by Officers William Travnick and Zachary Austin.

The officer recovered and spoke to RN Blake to thank her just a few hours after the incident.

“I would like to take a moment and let you know that RN Blake’s involvement with the incident was very instrumental in saving the officer’s life,”reported Health Services Administrator Kayla Tranbarger. “She was very professional and helpful in this emergency situation and we are lucky to have her as part of our team.”
