Passaic County receives second consecutive perfect inspection

Passaic County receives second consecutive perfect inspectionPassaic County Jail (PCJ) in Paterson, New Jersey has received its second consecutive perfect consent order inspection, achieving 100 percent compliance in all mental health areas.

“I am extremely thankful to you and your team,” stated Warden Michael Tolerico in an email to Psychiatrist Joel Federbush. “You, Allison Genberg, Mallory Zelaya, Sylvia Guzman and Sarah Lombard are to be commended for not only helping improve mental health services at the jail, but for also helping change the culture of Passaic County Jail.”

As a result of the efforts of the Corizon Health team, PCJ is at record low levels for the number of inmate assaults, incidents of use of force and other altercations involving mentally ill inmates. “These levels are so impressive that I can’t find any other jail in the state, or country, that has reduced incidents of violence as significantly as we have over the past several years,” Warden Tolerico continued.

Thank you, PCJ staff, for your tireless efforts.
