Tennessee DOC hosts third annual "Run the Green Mile" 5K in NashvilleOn the morning of May 14, thirty-one Healthcare Support Team members and guests from Brentwood, Tennessee joined together on a cold, rainy spring morning to run—or walk—in the third annual “Run the Green Mile” 5K in Nashville. The event took place at the historic, now condemned, Tennessee State Prison, which opened in 1898 and closed in 1992 (pictured above). The race was sponsored by our client partners at the Tennessee Department of Correction and raised over $9,000, all of which was donated to Big Brothers Big Sisters of Middle Tennessee. Chief Development Officer Jon Walker finished in a respectable fourth place.

Big Brothers Big Sisters of Middle Tennessee seeks to “help children realize their potential and build their futures” by nurturing them through mentoring programs which help strengthen our communities. In particular, their Amachi Program provides mentoring and support for children with an incarcerated parent, or parents.
