Team members lend knowledge in seminars at NCCHC Spring Conference

(L-R) Dr. Mark Fleming, Dr. Mariann Atwell, Laura McKinnon and Jessica Lee

The National Commission on Correctional Health Care (NCCHC) Spring Conference wrapped up mid-April in Nashville at Gaylord Opryland Resort. Corizon Health was a corporate sponsor for the event, themed “Setting the Stage for Quality Health Care.” Several Corizon Health leaders led or co-presented in educational seminars throughout the duration of the conference.

Dr. Mark Fleming, a frequent speaker at NCCHC conferences and events, co-presented on “Gender Dysphoria in the Correctional Environment,” (pictured) along with Jessica Lee, Dr. Mariann Atwell, Katie West, Scott Eliason and Laura McKinnon. Dr. Fleming returned to the podium to discuss “Mental Health and Security: Bridging the Cultural Divide,” a seminar co-led with Dr. Mark Simpson of the Tennessee Department of Correction. Since the CBC is one of the most common tests performed in corrections, Dr. Richard Kosierowski led a seminar on “Interpreting the CBC” correctly. Dr. Mariann Atwell joined  colleagues Tara Taylor, Ralf Salke, Elizabeth Atterbury, Keven Bredeman and Jane Hubbs to talk about “Reentry: Whose Job Is It?” Finally, Becky Pinney led a seminar on “Nurse Managers: Understanding Your Role.”

Thank you to our Corizon Health thought leaders for devoting their time to these important topics.
