Kentucky HSA passes LPN exam, becomes Corizon Health Nurse

Corizon Health LPN Kristin Fryman

Kristin Fryman, Health Services Administrator (HSA) at Lexington-Fayette County Detention Center (LFDC) in Kentucky, recently passed the LPN exam to become a nurse.

Kristin completed her nursing education several years ago, but did not pass the final exam and never did re-take it. The knowledge she had from her education served her well when she began at LFDC in 2001 as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CAN), then moved to Medical Records, worked as an Administrative Assistant, Compliance Coordinator, and was named HSA in January 2016. Getting her nursing degree is something she has wanted to “complete” over the years, and with encouragement from former Corrections Director, Rodney Ballard, as well as her co-workers, she decided it was time to finish what she started. The LPN certification allows her to now help cover nursing positions if needed, and be more involved with the clinical side as well as the operational side of patient care at LFDC. We congratulate Kristin on being not just a nurse…a Corizon Health Nurse.
