The Corizon Health team at Lexington-Fayette County Detention Center in Lexington in Kentucky recently said so-long to Director Rodney Ballard of the Division of Community Corrections. Ballard has been named the new commissioner of the Kentucky Department of Corrections (DOC), a job he began on March 14, and replaces LaDonna Thompson, who was named as the state’s first female commissioner in 2008.

The Corizon Health team at the facility, including Health Services Administrator (HSA) Kristin Fryman and Director of Nursing (DON) Jennifer Privett, has had such a great partnership with Director Ballard that they gave him a lab coat and plaque naming him a Corizon Health “Honorary M.D.” in recognition of his outstanding support of the medical staff over the years. Deputy Director Scott Colvin has been named interim director while the city of Lexington searches for Ballard’s permanent replacement.
