Florida Licensed Practical Nurse named Corizon Health ‘Employee of the Year’

(L-R) HSA Kristin Papp, VPO Michael Johnson, LPN Kendra Winkles, Director of Operations Helen Sneed and DON Julie Wise

Kendra Winkles, Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) at Tomoka Correctional Institution in Florida, has been named the 2015 Corizon Health ‘SMART Employee of the Year.’ Kendra was one of the first winners of the ‘Employee of the Quarter’ recognition, along with Josh Buskirk, in December. The Employee of the Year is chosen from the pool of Employee of the Quarter winners at the end of the given year for consistent demonstration of excellence in daily practice.

Kendra was nominated by Julie Wise, RN/Director of Nursing at Tomoka, for her outstanding performance and ongoing efforts to exceed expectations in every assignment. Kendra makes it a priority to educate her patients in all areas, for example working with the Alzheimer’s and Dementia-Related Disorders (ARD) patients to not only maintain but improve their cognitive function and quality of life. She strives for excellent patient outcomes in every way and trains staff to constantly be seeking ways to improve patient safety and quality care.

Corizon Health Nurse Winkles is the first recipient of this annual honor. We extend our congratulations and appreciation to Kendra for her outstanding work at Tomoka Correctional Institution, and for the example she sets there as well as to everyone throughout the company on how to be CorizonSMART!
