Corizon adds client to list of partners, retains another through competitive bid process

Corizon adds client to list of partners, retains another through competitive bid processIn early February, we received notification that the Michigan Department of Corrections (MDOC) selected Corizon Health to continue as the healthcare provider for MDOC, where we have been since 1998. This exciting news includes a 5-year contract with two 1-year renewals, effective June 2016. The MDOC contract was won through a competitive bid process, and in addition to the medical contract, we were also awarded the mental health and pharmacy components of service, adding significantly to the services we provide to this valued client partner.

In addition to the retention of the MDOC contract, we have been notified of the Riverside Regional Jail Authority’s (RRJA) ‘intent to award’ their contract for inmate healthcare services to Corizon Health. RRJA is a regional jail facility that serves seven jurisdictions in the Richmond, Virginia area. Our new three-year contract, when final, will begin March 2016, and will include comprehensive healthcare, mental health, dental and pharmacy services for this 1,500-bed facility. The addition of this contract will also add about 40 new members to the Corizon Health team.
