In Union County, New Mexico, teamwork makes a difference in community

In coordination with Amarillo, Texas ‘Toys for Tots’ program, Corizon Health and GEO Group staff at Northeast New Mexico Detention Facility (NENMDF) were able to give back to the community this Christmas.

Through the efforts of both security and non-security staff, directed by HSA Preston Farnum and Senior Warden Tim Hatch, a combined staff of only 176 people was able to make a difference in 86 children’s lives in collecting and delivering gifts for the holiday season. Along with the individual gifts were five board games that will remain in a local nursing home’s visitation area so families can enjoy them year-round. The outpouring of support from the staff for this initiative was amazing. And the offenders even assisted with wrapping the gifts!
