Missouri team collects donations for The Food Bank, fills 'Buddy Packs'

Missouri team members pose with their donations

Throughout the month of December, team members from Corizon Health’s Missouri regional office, as well as site staff from correctional centers across the state, donated food items to fill ‘Buddy Packs’ for The Food Bank. The Food Bank is a regional “disaster and hunger relief network that acquires and distributes millions of pounds of food annually.” Their food donations go to soup kitchens, emergency food pantries, shelters, programs for low-income children and senior citizens, and rehabilitation centers. This holiday season, they have partnered with Corizon Health to deliver donated goods in backpacks, or “Buddy Packs,” to elementary schools in Missouri counties it serves. Buddy Packs are filled with “kid-friendly, nutritious food” which students can take home for a weekend or holiday period to supplement their meals when there is not enough food to eat at home. During the 2013-14 school year, more than 6,000 Buddy Packs were distributed weekly.

We thank our Missouri team for their generosity, through the holidays and all year long!
