An article posted on a local ABC news website in Birmingham, Alabama details the annual efforts female inmates at the Birmingham Women’s Facility (BWF) make to honor Breast Cancer Awareness Month, including partnering with a local cancer center to provide the inmates with education about the disease. The inmates also worked with an area ministry to knit pink hats and scarves for cancer patients. Additionally, Corizon Health conducted an in-service training at BWF which included testimonies from inmates who are also breast cancer survivors.

We are proud of the work our team is doing within the Alabama Department of Corrections, including initiatives like these which only serve to support the Corizon Health Vision and Mission. Click here to read the article.
