Alabama medical team saves life of fellow staff member at Draper Correctional FacilityOn August 3, a staff member at Draper Correctional Facility in Elmore, Alabama, suffered a serious asthma attack after inhaling a toxic fume. The Corizon Health team immediately went into action, providing necessary medical treatment, including CPR when at one point stopped breathing. Health Services Administrator Michele Sagers-Copeland, Director of Nursing Darryl Ellis and other medical personnel continued performing CPR on the staff member until life-flight arrived to transport her to a local hospital.

Thanks to the quick response of the Corizon Health team in Elmore, this staff member is alive today. Warden Louis D. Boyd thanked the entire team by saying, “KUDOS to HSA Copeland, DON Ellis and the [Corizon Health] staff…you guys are truly professionals. You have my respect and gratitude for a job WELL DONE.
