Corizon Health physician, Dr. Glenda Newell-Harris has been elected as the 16th national president of The Links, Incorporated and The Links Foundation. This marks the first time a medical doctor will serve at the helm. Dr. Newell-Harris is a 29-year member of the Alameda Contra-Costa (CA) Chapter, and she steps into her new role having served four years as the organization’s national vice president.

Of her election, Dr. Newell-Harris said this, “It is the honor of a lifetime to serve as national president of The Links, Incorporated. My predecessors in this position have demonstrated not only the significance of this role, but also the profound impact it has across the nation and in several foreign countries.” She currently serves as Regional Medical Director in the west region for Corizon Health. She is also board certified in internal medicine and serves as a media spokesperson whose opinions have made her a valued medical expert on new advances in medicine.

The Links, Incorporated is an international, non-profit corporation with 12,000 professional women members in 280 chapters in 41 states. It is one of our nation’s oldest and largest volunteer service organizations comprised entirely of women who are influential decision makers and thought leaders. Currently, Links members contribute more than 500,000 documented hours of community service annually, thereby helping to strengthen their communities.
