We know, we know, breast cancer awareness month was in October, but we’ve had so many sites showing support, we want to recognize and thank everyone!

Stacie Koch, HSA, getting her pie-in-the-face.

Wyoming Honor Farm held multiple events in October, including designing their own T-shirts, an ice cream and bake sale, and a pie-in-the-face event! Employees could donate money to the jar of who they wanted to see “pied-in-the-face,” but decided it’d be more fun to “pie” more people and anyone receiving over $100 in their jar got a pie! The pie event alone raised half of their $1,200 total! Staff decided collectively to keep the funds raised local, and even helped two of their own employees fighting cancer and an autoimmune disease.

Birmingham Work Release Facility (AL) had a cookout with hot dogs and sausages to raise money for breast cancer research and also had a red velvet cake sale! The first cookout was such a success, staff held another one in late October. These great efforts raised over $560 for the fight against breast cancer!

Great job, Wyoming and Alabama!
