Pennsylvania Medical Director’s Article Featured in Corr Docs by Corizon Connections Blog

Dr. Greg Famiglio, Medical Director at SCI Muncy (PA), a Corizon facility, recently had his article “Understanding and Treating Nueropathic Pain” featured in the February edition of CorrDocs*. CorrDocs is a Society of Correctional Physicians whose mission includes encouraging research in correctional healthcare issues, and Dr. Famiglio has done just that.

His published article highlighted that “chronic pain is the most frequent cause of suffering and disability and is the number one reason patients seek out medical attention.” The article also goes on to provide insight on causes of pain and offers suggestions that successful treatment “involves pharmacotherapy, physical therapy and psychological intervention.”

Dr. Famiglio has also been a presenter at NCCHC conferences, is Director of the State College Methadone Clinic where he is a board certified Addiction Medicine Specialist, has been asked to speak on a talk-radio program for wellness suggestions, and is the proud father to his eight year-old son, Garrison.

Dr. Famiglio is admired by his Corizon PA DOC peers, and we appreciate his professional representation of Corizon nationwide.
