The Louisville (KY) Metro Department of Corrections recently accepted the Seven Counties Services’ 2011 Sunrise Award.  This award is in recognition of the department’s commitment to mental health services. Metro Corrections Director, Mark Bolton, was on hand to accept the award and said, “it is an honor to be recognized by Seven Counties, one of the premier agencies in our community offering mental health services.” Louisville Metro is the 7th recipient of the Sunrise Award, which recognizes an individual or organization whose cooperation and collaboration over the past year has helped further the mission of the Seven Counties Services: to build healthy communities by helping individuals and families who are affected by mental illness, developmental disabilities, addictions and abuse realize their potential.

The Corizon Behavioral Health Program has proven to be a model in the correctional healthcare industry. Our approach reduces risk to inmate patients, correctional facilities and the public by focusing on early identification and assessment, health education, prevention, treatment, continuity of care and reintegration services.
