Tennessee nurses cited for professionalism and valor

L-R: John Watson, DON; Connie Martinez, RN; Dwayne Phillips, TN Reg Dir; Rae Dawson, LPN; Jerry Lester, Warden; Kevin Rea, HSA

On January 24, 2012 Connie Martinez, RN and, Rae Dawson, LPN were recognized and honored for their acts of professionalism and valor while performing their duties on April 29, 2011.

A correctional officer was stabbed multiple times by inmates at the Turney Center facility.  Without regard for their own safety nurses Martinez and Dawson responded to the scene and provided life-saving care to the officer.   Warden Jerry Lester was present when the nurses arrived to assist the officer.  Shortly thereafter in May 2011, Warden Lester presented both Corizon employees with citations for their professionalism and valor in the performance of their duties on that tragic day.

Correctional facilities under Corizon offer a highly supportive and collaborative work environment.

We add our Congratulations, Connie and Rae!
