Genesee County Corizon correctional facility gives back to the community

Genesee County staff

The medical department at Genesee County (Michigan), a Corizon facility, continued to aide those in the community in 2011. The Corizon facility joined a children’s organization dedicated to giving back to families in 2010. In December 2011, staff adopted three families, including two of our own employee’s families to bless and assist for the Christmas holiday. Wish lists were gathered and employees donated generously based on individual families needs.

The local community has been hit extremely hard by unemployment and other environmental factors, resulting in increased needs. Dr. Dennis Lloyd, Medical Director of Genesee County Corizon facility, made direct referrals to Toys for Tots and his wife’s church for additional support for our adopted families. The church, led by Pastor Mary Lloyd, distributed specialized meals packaged with recipes included. Young adults cheerfully met each family and carried their gifts to their respective cars. The Genessee County Corizon Staff continues to enjoy a wonderful work environment with so many talented, caring and committed employees. They feel privileged to have the ability to share with those in need at Christmas.

The Corizon family is committed to reaching out to our communities through continuous fundraising and volunteer work. Visit our web site to see how you can join our team and make a difference in the correctional healthcare community.
