The staff at Chillicothe Correctional Center recently hosted their annual Health Fair, with 629 jail inmates in attendance.

Jail inmates attending the Health Fair were offered educational information from several resources. They were able to visit booths, which included:

– Dental booth offering educational pamphlets and advice
– Eye health booth complete with an eyeball model to learn about the structure of the eye
– Healthy Habits game area where jail inmates were awarded for correctly answering questions about Healthy Lifestyles

Jail inmates were also able to visit areas to learn about the Re-entry program, Diabetes, Blood Pressure and Drugs, Tobacco and Alcohol Awareness, among many others. Also, back by popular demand was the STD Roulette wheel, which could earn jail inmates a piece of candy for correctly answering a trivia question.

After reading jail inmate survey results, it was found that the jail inmates enjoyed the interaction with staff and feel what they learned was very beneficial. Some even stated that it made learning more fun!

A special Thanks to everyone who helped make the Health Fair a huge success!
